While we were in Salvador, this event happened at the Convention Center where my mom works. We tried to sneak a peak at the big shots, but only saw Gilberto Gil (smack in the middle of the screen, but hard to see because he is so tiny there). With the presence of names such as Nelson Mandela, Desmond Tutu, Koffi Annan, Frederick de Klerk, Stevie Wonder, Yossou NDour, Angelique Kidjo and Gilberto Gil, among others, Salvador hosted, July 11-15, the Second Conference of Intellectuals from Africa and its Diaspora (CIAD).
